We’re covering the cost of groceries with a $100.00 grocery store gift card

One year into the pandemic, hunger is more pervasive than ever among households throughout the Bay Area and California. Widespread, devastating layoffs have left millions of people scrimping to pay for basic necessities. Desperation is especially high among the economically challenged areas of San Jose. The number of people facing instability and job loss is just staggering. Our foundation is responding to an unprecedented demand for emergency food.  For vulnerable populations, covering basic, everyday expenses can be a constant struggle. Helping at-risk individuals and families cover these costs of basic necessities not only meets their needs but also helps them retain their dignity and respect. On Saturday, March 27, 2021, beginning at 10:00 AM, our organization will be covering the cost of groceries with a $100.00 grocery store gift card, books, candies, goodie bags, and jump ropes for children from The Mckinley/Bonita area.  Uniformed Police officers, community volunteers, and corp. donors will distribute the gifts. All Covid-19 safety protocols will be strictly adhered to. So far, we have raised $7,000.00 towards our goal of $20,000.00.

Please NOTE: Families have been preselected and are registered. We are not taking new families at this time.

It requires an entire community, working together to help raise awareness and connect those who are food insecure with the food resources available to them.
